Gracecourt Hostel:
The staff and management of Gracecourt are committed to caring for residents with respect for their individuality in a home-like environment, according to the values of the Christian faith to ensure the dignity of their personhood.

Gracecourt has 23 private, single bed rooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. All rooms are furnished with a bed, chair and bedside table and have adequate storage and bench space. All rooms are equipped with emergency call-bells in both the main room and the bathroom.

A variety of common areas are available for resident use. Gracecourt Hostel provides a catering service that is healthy and nutritious, meets the dietary and health needs of residents,

Personal Care staff are present throughout the day to provide quality care for all residents of the hostel. We have sleep-over staff who are available for emergency care overnight. To enable quality care, assessments will be conducted to determine individual care needs and abilities. A personalised care plan is developed on admission and reviewed according to changing care needs in consultation with residents and/or advocates (if requested).

Medications can either be self-administered or administered by staff. You are encouraged to continue with your own medical practitioner(s). If your medical practitioner does not visit the areas, we can recommend a local medical practitioner who visits the hostel regularly

Gracecourt Hostel encourages residents to maintain their lifestyle preferences, such as leisure interests, cultural and spiritual activities, choice and decision making as part of their daily life.

An Activities Coordinator is employed to develop and carry out a program that presents a variety of activities. An organized program of craft, music, games, special events, discussion groups, and outings operates throughout the week. All residents are free to participate in activities as much or as little as they wish.

The activities co-ordinator organises many groups and volunteers in the community to visit the hostel. They include:

Devotional services every week

Clothing companies to come and do fashion shows

Church groups to do programmes some afternoons

Library books from the local library

Other groups on special occasions

Resident Services

Laundry

Cleaning

Hairdressing Podiatry

Mail and Telephone calls
