Ministry Partnerships 2008 - 2009
Tuesday, 30th September 2008
Young people are most often willing to tackle new and difficult tasks. This is neither revolutionary or ground breaking. What is Special about MP’s is the systematic way in which Ministry is mixed with the innate sense of adventure in young people to develop a passion and capability for the
propagation of the gospel far beyond the years spent with MP’s. The leaders of the future are waiting in the wings.
Do you have know idea what I am talking about? Ok, here it is in flat out form. We take 10 young people from 8-10 different Brethren churches and give them the opportunity to participate in 10 different event based ministries. Here are the 10 challenging partnerships at a glance;
• Red Frogs
• Port Fairy Ministry
• Grassroots Conference
• National Student leadership forum
• State Youth Games
• Global Leadership Summit
• Serve in the city
• PNG trip
• Community celebration
We will meet monthly to have breakfast together. In the local church each participant needs to be involved in ministry as well as a growth partner or mentor. The Goal is to create a well connected bunch of young people who have a passion for serving in their local communities with the support and know how to advance Christ's kingdom on many new fronts. Our movement now faces an opportunity to invest directly in the young people of our assemblies. With applications and selection scheduled to begin mid 2008 for 2009, MP’s will need to begin planning immediately.
The heart of this program is to empower the young people in our communities to reach beyond their regular
world to discover new and refreshing methods, ideas and partners in proclaiming the gospel. Each month the team will meet for breakfast to discuss our experiences and share stories as we grow together. These breakfasts will be shared with the monthly young peoples network meetings.
